Mantra Meditation / Singing Circle and Sound Bath

We will begin with singing in circle, a selection of specially chosen mantras accompanied by the guitar, shruti & drum. We will have percussion in the centre for you to use if you so wish. Please note, there is no expectation to join in with the singing, although we’d love you to! We will all have our eyes closed and we encourage you to use the space to allow deeper connection to yourself. Whether that be picking up a rattle and shaking along and/or singing or just absorbing the vibrations, all is welcome.
You will receive a sheet with all the mantra words & meanings, as well as a herbal tea to keep you hydrated. After the singing, we will move into a soothing sound bath using different instruments including gongs & bowls. This will be a chance to integrate the vibrations from the song and move deeper into relaxation and healing.
Sound vibrations have the power to harmonise us through a process called entrainment. When we experience health issues, anxiety, depression, stress etc, be become out of alignment with our natural frequency. When sound is played at certain frequencies, it can cause our vibration to fall into sync with it, and can bring us back into alignment.
Just like Sound Therapy, chanting or singing mantras create vibrations.
The vibrations mantras create can:
- lower our brainwaves, help calm the mind chatter and help us to reach a higher state of awareness
- cause a release of chemical hormones that balance the body and have healing effects
- can help us release emotion through our self-expression
- bring us back into alignment with our natural state.

Just BE Sound and Movement Therapy is run by Alison Heaslewood who has received training in Sound and Movement Therapy from the British Academy of Sound Therapy. Following a five year episode of chronic pain in her twenties and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, she turned to alternative methods of healing, including Sound Therapy. Along with sound, movement was instrumental in her full recovery and as well as offering sound journeys, she holds separate sessions to weave sound and movement together. With five years vocal training she enjoys bringing soothing vocals into her sound sessions along with other percussion. She co-hosts Mantra Meditations/Singing Circles and creates nurturing and relaxing spaces for anyone seeking a space to Just BE.
