I have been a registered childminder for 16 years and am a mum of twins, who are now in their 20s! I have worked in pre-schools, infant schools and primary schools as a teaching assistant. My setting is safe, secure and friendly, where children can blossom at their own pace. As a qualified artist I am particularly interested in arts & craft as a fun 'learn-through-play' tool and offer a warm, caring home from home atmosphere to welcome children into. I believe safety always comes first and have completed a Targeted Safeguarding Children Course, Pediatric first Aid, DPP NVQ 3, IPP, Dip mem said, and have attended many training courses covering a wide range of subjects.
Our day consists of having fun learning through a wide range of activities to support the EYFS learning and development stages, including 'show and tell', story-time/reading, Jolly Phonics, baking, role play imaginative play, educational games/activities, music, dance, rhythm and rhyme, free play, craft, and lots more. We attend libraries, local parks and outdoor play areas for nature walks and physical activity. Becoming 'school ready' for younger children and supporting older children through school is my aim.
I can supply excellent references, my Ofsted rating is 'Good' therefore I am able to offer Government Funding. Please feel welcome to discuss any requirements or requests.
